A Reason for Spelling D Teacher Guidebook

This book is necessary if you desire your student to use most of the sections in the correlating Student Workbook including the story read by the teacher at the beginning of the section, dictation, journaling questions (that relate to the story and Holy Bible verse) and a few other activities to reinforce the concepts and make the words memorable to the student. The stories at the being of each unit relate to most of the words used and is a continuing saga throughout the book. Level "D" is 4th grade. I personally enjoy the stories because they bring home the point of the Bible verse for each section and subsequent stories relate to one another - thus making a "book" out of the entire series. My student also enjoys the stories because they are interesting. The guide is easy to read though it is geared for a "classroom" style, we use it in our homeschool with one student (and simply omit the "game" played with teams). We also employ the "Spelling Power" method by not reviewing words my student already knows after the pretest - only tackle the ones missed. My student also completes each unit (intended for 5 days of study) in 2 or 3 days if the words are too easy. It's simple enough set the program at your student's pace - assigning as much or as little as is necessary to master the words - yet, it is intended for one year of study. Overall, we enjoy the spelling program.

A Reason to use... A reason for Spelling

I have found it!!! I am so excited about this book that I had to share. I am absolutely amazed at the brilliance of this book. We homeschool, and my youngest (who's a 4th grader) really struggles with spelling. This book is fun, interactive, and colorful. It gives them a reason to want to learn!!! The best part of this book, is that it has the same format year to year, so my two homeschoolers can have the same assignment; IE: Lesson one, pages 6 & 8... and that decreases my workload as well. Buy this with confidence! It's fabulous. BTW.... I often times buy curriculum without the Teacher's Manual to save money. Do yourself a favor and buy the TM since it is a wonderful help. Some of the lessons are based from the Teacher Manual, so without it you'd have to skip parts of the lesson.
