An interesting mix of cases

Interesting insight from a pathologist personally involved in these recent cases. Well written and well balanced with enough background info on the victims and other key characters, along with the factual descriptions of the causes of death. An interesting mix of cases in this book...some mysterious deaths and some certain murders...even an incident at a hospital in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

A question of murder

Great book. A few to many duplications in the chapters of Ana Nichole Smith and her son, it felt a bit like filler material. Over all a great read.

Comes from a forensic pathologist who has dissected the greatest

A QUESTION OF MURDER: COMPELLING CASES FROM A FAMED FORENSIC PATHOLOGIST comes from a forensic pathologist who has dissected the greatest, performing autopsies on over 16,000 bodies to determine why and how they died. His expertise lends to a true-crime expose considering such fascinating cases as those of Anne Nicole Smith, murder victim child Stephanie Crowe, and the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Anna Nicole fan

I'm coming from the other side of the aisle. I collect Anna Nicole memorabilia (which has gone through the roof since her death), so when I learned this book was coming, I bought it. I thought I knew everything about her, certainly I've watched her E show and I even met her with her son once in Miami, but the details here were brilliantly laid out. It's not just about how Anna and her son died, it goes into great detail about their (esp her) early lives. The parts about her marriage were well shocking. A must for any collector. Now I will eagerly read the other chapters too. I remember seeing a documentary on the Crowe case so that was an excellent choice, and I lived in New Orleans right before Katrina, so that will be good too. And the poor little blond girl, what a terrible tragedy. I like this Dr. Wecht and have seen him on TV a lot. He gets the big cases for good reason. He certainly did a superb job researching the Smith cases and I expect the other chapters will prove that as well.

Fascinating!

I could not put this book down!! It is fast paced, well written and not overly technical. I preordered it as I was happy to hear about a book which featured both the Danielle Van Dam and Stephanie Crowe cases. I followed these cases diligently, and even watched the Van Dam case on TV. Nothing was written about VanDam and very little about Crowe after the trials, and these were two very interesting cases. It was a surprise to learn that there were additional details which I never knew about, but I learned now after reading the book! And even if you can't stand her, the information about Anna Nicole and her son is fascinating too! I have my own opinion about this though and I wish that Florida would reopen an investigation into Anna's demise. I highly recommend this book!!
