A Question of Arson

Colin O'Neill, a National Service conscript in the Australian Army during 1967-1969, is a Vietnam veteran. He was also an unsworn member with the Victorian Police Department and became Head of School Security for the Victorian Education Department in 1974. On April Fool's Day 1996, Colin was admitted to practice as a barrister and solicitor and continued to practice in the areas of crime, family violence and industrial relations until he retired in 2022.

A Question of Arson provides a raw and compelling in-depth evaluation of the crime of arson committed by all types of people, ranging from serial arsonists to pyromaniacs and firelighters posing as firefighters.

The comprehensive analysis sets out the often-murderous exploits of over 120 arsonists listed in Rogues Gallery.

Together with a plethora of case law references, there is particular emphasis on the criminal investigation leading to the arrest, subsequent conviction and sentence of the perpetrator.

This book also poses a question, in some instances, of guilty or not guilty and provides the reader with an insight into many suspicious fires that remain unsolved.
