This book is a must for clinicians ... !

This impressive work (with a very modest title) provides us with the essential tools that every clinician doing supportive therapy needs to have. The book is very practical and the techniques are easy to grasp. As a psychiatry resident, I found the patient-therapist dialogues presented in this "primer" to be most useful. The clinical vignettes, which constitute a substantial portion of the book, provide an excellent guide for beginning practitioners. I enthusiastically support Allen Frances M.D., who said, " Dr. Pinsker is the high master of this art and we should all be grateful to him for sharing his secrets. This book is a must for clinicians at all levels of experience."
