Intelligent and Spiritual

I was a student of Dr. Bondi's and found this book to be most helpful in my own spiritual journey. I am currently using the book and the video series to teach a group of about 25 adults of various ages. It was helped spark good thought-provoking conversation. Personally I like the format. Probably it works better as a group study, but didn't bother me when I read it individually. This is not a book for those who need to be spoon-fed. It is meant to engage on a deeper theological level.

a fresh, insightful look at a familiar prayer

We used Roberta Bondi's book along with the video series for a Lenten prayer study. Our group of about 15 was diverse in age, spiritual experience and cultural background yet each of us found that we could personally identify with Bondi's writings. She pesents a fresh look at a prayer that is so familiar we may find ourselves chanting it with little thought. She gives new meaning to the Lord's prayer from the very first words with her discussion of what it means to pray to OUR father. Who has ever thought about the real meaning of that simple pronoun? I highly recommend this book for individual reading or group study.

Inciteful and thought-provoking

I am using this book and the accompanying video series in a class that I am teaching on the Lord's Prayer. The fifteen women participants in the class have found the book to be extremely helpful in opening up new meanings, layers of meanings to this prayer whose very repetition often renders it meaningless. My class and I have thoroughly enjoyed this book- and we're looking to study another one of Dr. Bondi's book.
