A New World

By Henry Fisher

Piper, a microbiology intern working under the world-renowned Dr. Landry, lives a peaceful life with her grandmother until the day the United Korean Empire launches a nuclear missile at the US, sparking a grand-scale nuclear conflict that leads to the contamination of the earth's atmosphere. An eccentric billionaire steps in with a last-ditch effort to save humanity by sending a large group to colonize a planet within a nearby solar system in a Goldilocks Zone. Selected for the mission somewhat by chance, Piper accompanies Dr. Landry on this opportunity to escape Earth. Following a four-year trip, the settlers arrive on their new home planet to find it is teeming with unexpected lifeforms and looming threats. In a shocking twist, it is discovered that there are enemy combatants among them, and as the team prepares for the worst, a groundbreaking microbiological breakthrough is discovered - one that could save Earth.
