Wowsa! What a great new voice!

This was a terrific book. I find it amazing that this is her first book. The storyline...with the haunting... is believable and compelling. The tension/ relationship between Cain and Amice is delightful. Great read, very interesting and quite enjoyable!!!!

Wonderful Debut!

Cain Veuxfort, Earl of Hawksdown had betrayed Amice de Monceaux. After becoming involved in a passionate love affair with her, and leading her to expect marriage, he had listen to his mother and deserted her to marry another woman. Now five years have past and Cain needs Amice to help rid him of a vengeful spirit that is haunting his home. If she helps him rid his home of this trouble then he will give her ownership of a villa in Italy. Only now that are constantly together at Cain's castle they discover that the feelings and passion that brought them together before are still strong. But can Amice ever forgive Cain for his betrayal? A Lost Touch of Bliss is an outstanding debut novel by Amy Tolnitch. Cain and Amice are characters who you quickly become involved with. The secondary story dealing with tragedy of the ghosts haunting Cain's home is a delightful bonus. A Touch of Bliss is an absorbing story of love and forgiveness that grabs the reader from the first page and holds them enthralled until the end. Readers of paranormal romances will find a new author for their reading lists in Amy Tolnich. I, for one, hope to see a story for Cain's brother, Piers, in the future. unique paranormal medieval romance

In 1191 Cain Veuxfort falls in love with Amice de Monceaux, but after seeing her betray his feelings with someone else he heeded the advice of his mother and married someone more fitting to be the wife of an Earl. However, he never forgot the woman he still loves five years later. Cain needs Amice's skill as a Spirit Goddess to send a ghost that haunts his castle on to the next realm. To get her to even come to Wareham Castle, he offers her ownership of Villa Delphino on the Italian coast. Seeing this as a chance to escape an unwanted marriage, Amice accepts Cain's terms though she has doubts because she still loves the man who betrayed her heart. At Cain's castle, their love remains strong and encouraged by his brother and uncle especially since he is a widow and even his mom cannot argue as she died a couple of years ago. Still both blame the other and unless they talk to clear the air, their relationship will remain failed just like the two star-crossed lover-ghosts that haunt the castle. The ghosts especially the female spirit turns A LOST TOUCH OF BLISS into a unique paranormal medieval romance. The lead duet in spite of Amice's abilities to communicate with the ghosts are typical of the sub-genre; however the support cast to include his two relatives, her mentor, and the specters add twists and élan to the fine tale. Fans of historical and those of otherworldly will appreciate this second chance at love in which the present (that is twelfth century present) and the deceased share so much in common. An Amazing Debut Effort You Won't Want To Miss!!!

Ms. Tolnitch has penned a wonderful debut novel that is a spellbinding read that grabs the reader right from the start. She has created wonderful characters that the reader will be able to relate too, and care about, and as a result Amice, Cain, Muriel, Gerard, will stay with the reader long after the final page is read. Other secondary characters such as Lugh, Agatha, Piers, and Uncle Gifford are also wonderful additions to this stellar cast of characters. Amice and Cain have shared a past five years earlier. Amice thought that their love was strong and true and they shared much and then Cain left to marry another leaving Amice feeling betrayed and wounded down to her very soul. Cain walks away from Amice thinking that she had been unfaithful, and that the needs of his family and his newly inherited title of Earl of Hawksdown requires that he make a good match that will fill family coffers and save the family estates. He does this and marries a cruel and unfaithful woman. Years after her death he finds his home plagued by a spirit that makes his life miserable to say the least. He finally comes to his wits end and sends for "The Spirit Goddess" who just so happens to be Amice. What happens from this request is anyone's guess but finding that their attraction has not cooled in the least is not what they expect to find. Now Amice is driven to cast the spirit out if only to obtain the villa in Italy that she longs to runaway too. If only it was that simple. Instead Amice and Cain embark on a journey that is oftentimes painful but in the end will bring them their hearts desire. This was a wonderful paranormal romance. Ms. Tolnitch has taken the plot of haunted house by upset spirit to a whole new level that is not only entertaining, but also fresh. Muriel, and Gerard's are important characters since they play a large part in helping Amice and Cain find their way back to each other. This was a very romantic, and sensual read that will stay with the reader long after the story is over. I hated to say goodbye to these characters. I laughed and cried along with them, which, is always a sign of an excellent book. I truly hope that we will be able to visit with them again. If you are a fan of paranormal romance, I highly recommend that you add Ms. Tolnitch to your list of must read authors. She truly has a wonderful gift of being able to weave a story that you won't want to put down. Official Reviewer for www.romancedesigns.com
