Soothing, helpful book

This doctor shows his compassion for those in chronic pain and offers comfort, even if not always of the physical variety. Anyone who suffers from pain on an on-going basis will appreciate this book, if only for the manner in which Dr. Hinds shows his understanding of the completeness of the turmoil it causes.

more than pain

This is not just a book for people with chronic pain. It is also a handbook for those of us who are struggling. This is a book I will look to, and read again and again, when facing difficult events in the future.

A wonderful tool for understanding pain!

I found this to be a powerful book by a remarkable medical doctor. As a chronic pain sufferer, the author's simple explanations of the physiology of pain were enlightening. This book has helped me explore my own spiritual path with new vitality.

A transendental look at pain.

As a non-clinical person, I entered this book with trepidation. But what a pleasure of a read it was. It takes the concept of pain, which one typically only perceives of in the immediate physical sense, and explains this physically, emotionally, metaphysically and spiritually. This is a book for people with any type of pain - from the body, the heart or the soul - and will breath new life into you. There was obviously a great deal of time and effort put into these limited pages. I will share this with my closest friends. The annecdocal case studies referenced in the book allow one to understand the authors point from both the person with the pain and the healer. This book is just plain good for the soul.

The book gave me the realization that one is not alone when in severe pain and that there is a "light at the end of the tunnel". The book is immensely inspiring!
