Best romance I've ever read!

I just finished reading A KISS TO DREAM ON and want to thank Stephanie Mittman for such a delightful book. I laughed; I cried; I wanted to see the movie. But I especially wanted to thank her for the best romance I've ever read--and by all accounts that's over 10,000 at this point--42 years of serious addiction to American love stories, and A KISS tops them all! I couldn't wait to get to the bookstore and search out others by this engaging author.

Fabulous!

I am always thrilled when I come upon an author that I have not yet read and discover that she is WONDERFUL. Mittman makes her characters full, real and deep. She has a knack for avoiding the trap of making every situation and every character too perfect. She creates characters that you cheer for even knowing their flaws. Can't wait to pick up another one of her books.

A MUST READ!!!

My copy of this book is peppered with marginal notes, highlights, and underlines. They offer support to my belief that Stephanie Mittman is a master writer of the 20th century. Her genius, I think, lies in her stingy use of words. With them, she paints vivid pictures, evokes strong feelings and exposes the humaness within us all. That, fellow readers, makes for more than "historical romance," it's literature at its best.

For those who like LaVyrle Spencer!

The shock that LaVyrle Spencer isn't writing any longer should be softened by the fact that we now have Stephanie Mittman's books to read. A KISS TO DREAM ON is a classic marriage of convenience story with that little something extra that had become Mittman's trademark. This book justly deserves all the accolades. Gideon is a hero to cherish. Read and enjoy!

Great Americana

As has been the trademark of their association, Gideon heads to the church to clean up Slick's latest mess.Gideon has always loved Lissa, but she only had eyes for Slick. When he tells the stunned woman that Slick left town, a panic-stricken Lissa admits that she is pregnant and that Slick knew. Gideon asks Lissa to marry him and the desperate young lady accepts. However, Gideon has an agenda with a defined objective. He will do whatever it takes to gain Lissa's love. He truly believes that even though he may not have been her first lover, he plans to be her last and her best. However, every night as he lies near his beloved wife waiting for her to share his need, his gut takes over from his heart and he panics that when Slick returns, Lissa will go to him.Americana romance fans rightfully hold Stephanie Mittman in high esteem because of her tremendous novels. Ms. Mittman's newest winner, A Kiss To Dream On, will embellish that merited prominence. The novel is a captivating historical romance that contains all the master magician's touch. The two memorable protagonists, whose relationship propels the story line forward at a fast pace, are a fabulous duo. Gideon prays but fears the future while Lissa begins to understand what love is all about. This novel is another great western Americana romance created by a writer whose works are always devoured by romance fans.Harriet Klausner
