To give this book a proper review would be to write a book in itself. However, the title is the best clue to the innards.
There are 130 black and white photographs depicting different textiles and equipment used to work with textiles throughout various ages. This is supplemented with plenty of monochrome diagrams and drawings.
Designed in textbook fashion, each chapter has an extensive bibliographic essay.
I saw some devices that I had not seen before in other textile books. I would also like to have a few of the more exotic looms. Unfortunately, no room in the loom room. And I have always wanted a flax breaker.
