A Doorway to Memories

Tom Weinert was born and raised in a small town in NJ. He often reminisces through his many memories as a source of his poems. In discussions within their local poetry group and with individuals, he stresses the importance to understand that poems enrich the heart with memories from the past, such as told in "The Swing at Sunset."

He also emphasizes his Bible based Christian beliefs in a short work called, "A Creature of Clay," among others.

Tom has also enjoyed a rich career in the computer field, beginning in 1961 with the U.S. Army and afterward growing into the days of the Internet. His background helped him pursue several sales positions in the second half of his career, dealing with high-performance computing and scientific visualization. His last ten years were focused on creating a market with many medical schools in the U.S. and throughout the world with the Visible Human Dissector. The Dissector was the effort between the NIH and Touch of Life Technologies to produce a superior teaching tool for human anatomy.

Tom uses his time to continue writing poems, a number of which are included in his recently published book, "A Doorway to Memories."

He and his wife Linda had a wonderful 58 year marriage until her death in April, 2025. If asked, Tom would answer with assurance that they will be together again.
