A Date with Mr Thingamajig is a tragicomic absurdist play by Giovanna Zappu, in which two ageing actresses, Dondon and Gingin, are stuck in an empty theatre, waiting for something - or someone - they call "Thingamajig". As they wait, they fill the void with laughter, memories, and a dash of desperation. They confront the darkest corners of solitude and the deepest longings of the human heart. The play explores how we are all waiting for meaning, love or the end of suffering - often without knowing exactly what we are waiting for.
