Excellent description

Chapter one is one of the best descriptions of ADD that I have read. I learned a lot about myself even though I have read several other books on the subject and have been acquainted with the disorder for more than 10 years. Chapter two describes how right-brained people's brain functions, how learning and recall are different from left-brained people. Very interesting and practical information. The best part is the 4-week schedule of activities in the last chapter. I was amazed when I started to do the activities. Now I know why other organizing systems (based on left-brained logic) never worked. You can see amazing results immediately. The important point is DO THE DAILY ACTIVITIES at the end of the book. It will change the way you look at life. Organization and follow-through will be like never before. I always thought I could never get organized, but now it is happening!

4 weeks to an organized life with ad/hd

having been diagnosed with ad/hd a little over a year ago, i have been reading extensively on the subject. this book is by far the best i've read. it is informative, compassionate and practical. it reads as though the authors have a window into my head and my life. the description of the problem and the strategies for dealing with it are very helpful. i would reccomend it enthusiastically to anyone interested in the field and especially to those coping with ad/hd. sincerely, conny m.

Three Cheers for 4 weeks

This is a must have if you either have ADD or treat others that have ADD! I am a Clinical Social Worker that has been treating patients with ADD for almost a decade and I actually learned some new techniques from this book. I have recommended it to most of my patients and they really like it! The begining chapters provide a clear understanding of the nuances of adult ADD in a easy to read and enjoyable fashion using case examples. The organizing portion is written in the same easy fun style with headlines and "Activity" sections. Working the activities are quick and interesting building on strengths of the ADD mind. This book is easily worth the money. Also a great Holiday gift for a good friend or family member. Roslyn Steeler M.S.W.

FOUR WEEKS TO AN ORGANIZED LIFE WITH AD/HD

I am a professional and personal coach, who has seen the difficulties of adults with AD/HD in my clients as well as in family and friends. I've read books about AD/HD, but this one is different. Other books often treat AD/HD as a medical condition which needs treatment, or as just a difference that should be appreciated. This book strikes a great balance between the two. It gives a great, fun to read understanding of AD/HD and right-brain thinking. And it also highlights the strengths that many with AD/HD have, and shows how to capitalize them. I would highly recommend this book to all those who have AD/HD, and to those who love or work with someone who has AD/HD. Beth Walker, MBA, CPCC

"4 Weeks" COMPASSIONATE AND PRACTICAL

4 WEEKS TO AN ORGANIZED LIFE WITH AD/HD "4 Weeks To An Organized Life With AD/HD" is one of the best books I have read on understanding and dealing with AD/HD. It's clear, informative, compassionate and practical and provides a more comprehensive look at AD/HD than the title suggests. The authors' up-to- date, scientific explanation of this neurobiological disorder uses language that those new to ADHD can easily understand. This complex disorder has behaviors that are continually and painfully misattributed to psychological or moral motivation. "4 Weeks" strongly establishes the biological source of the shaming behaviors that are AD/HD. I have been providing therapy to adults with AD/HD for over twenty years, and I think this is a book that all of my clients, their families and other mental health professionals would find helpful.
