30 Days to Stop Being a Gym Douchebag is a 30-day mindfulness program designed to help you examine your behavior, attitudes, and reactions in the gym, while becoming more aware of how your habits and actions may affect your experience and the people around you.
Each day introduces a different mindfulness exercise or lesson, giving you a simple, structured practice to explore for approximately 15-30 minutes.
Inside, you'll find:
30 days of mindfulness exercises and lessons exploring self-awareness, behavior, attitudes, reactions, and personal habitsDaily reflection and self-observation practices designed to increase awarenessSimple practices involving stillness, focused attention, observation, and mindfulnessA corresponding mantra for each day to reinforce the day's practiceA practical 30-day structure that encourages you to slow down, observe yourself, and become more present
Rather than simply telling you how to behave at the gym, this program gives you something to practice each day. The exercises explore thoughts, emotions, labels, attachments, assumptions, and learned patterns, encouraging you to become more aware of your behavior rather than automatically reacting to your surroundings.
You don't need to complete the days perfectly or treat the program as a test. The emphasis is on observation, awareness, and practice. You can work through the 30 days in order or return to exercises that are particularly meaningful to you.
This book is a stand-alone 30-day mindfulness guide. It uses the same general mindfulness-based approach found in other books by these authors, while applying the exercises and lessons to a different subject and audience.
Note for the print edition: The paperback includes additional blank pages corresponding to the 30 days. Use them to record thoughts, observations, insights, reflections, mantras, drawings, or anything else you want to capture during your 30-day practice. The ebook edition does not include these additional blank pages.
