Morbidly fascinating...

From the gruesome opening to the final chapter, I was shocked at the possibility that this corrupt police force could ever actually exist... my cop friend said "reality sucks, eh?" Oh my, the things that do go on! This is not a read for the "faint-at-heart"! However, I read it in one sitting as I couldn't stand not knowing who was behind all the corruption.

Excellent!

I loved this book! At times it made me laugh out loud, other times I gasped in surprise. It was very hard to put down and I found myself counting the minutes until my lunch hour so I could devour more of this treat. I can't wait to read the sequel.

Terrific crime thriller

A year and a half ago, New York City police officer Bobby Emmet was arrested for murdering and cremating his fiancee. Bobby knows that he is innocent and the only motive for framing him is his last case: the investigation of a police disability retirement scam. His prospects of proving his innocence seems very remote. However, he gets his first break since being imprisoned when his lawyer manages to get him released from jail while awaiting the trial. He knows for him to regain his freedom permanently, he must investigate his girl friend's death. To his shock, Bobby quickly realizes that the woman who was cremated is not his fiancee. He soon learns that all roads lead to Gerald Stone, candidate for governor of New York, and a man who plans to win the election by any means available. 3 QUARTERS is a full ride down the meanest streets of Brooklyn. The story line is fast-paced and gut wrenching while Bobby is a wonderful hero. Though readers need to ignore the premise that his enemy allows Bobby to live for the fun of the game, they will enjoy this New York City who-done-it. Harriet Klausner
