A Reflective Opportunity for Teachers

I have been an educator for 15 years. This book is the first to actually identify the mistakes teachers make and how these mistakes "traumatize" students. This book affords teachers the opportunity to become aware of how their words and actions can influence the lives of students. 25 Biggest Mistakes Teachers Make and How to Avoid Them encouraged me to take a reflective look at myself. This book is a must read for new and veteran teachers.

Every Teacher Needs This Book!

This book is an excellent portrayal of situations that have gone on and continue to happen in our classrooms every day. The mistakes that teachers make have huge effects on our students. This book makes you think about how what you say or do to your students will affect them in the long run. I remember a lot of these insidences happening in school when I was young and nothing was ever done about it. This book now brings those situations into the open and tells ways to avoid them. Every teacher needs to read this book so that they do not make those very same mistakes. I really enjoyed reading this book, there were times when I my eyes got watery just thinking about how the people felt whent hey were kids. This is truly a fantastic book!

A definite must for all teachers!

I absolutely love this book because it is a reality check for all teachers. School districts should really consider using this book for staff development as it reminds us of how having one bad day can forever scar a student. Hats off to Dr. Carolyn Orange for bringing this "taboo" into the light.
