Drop everything you're doing, and BUY this book.

"Comic Strip Century" is a classic that is now pretty expensive on the secondhand book market. This reprint of that two-volume book is on terriffic paper with many Sunday strips appearing in color. You can spend weeks poring over this book. If you're looking to blow $20 on comics, this is the way to go because of the incredible value here -- nearly 500 oversize pages of primo classic material! The only thing more classic is the Smithsonian Book of Comics, also very out of print but not hard to find online for cheap. When you're done with that, you can get busy with some more recent comic reprint projects, such as WALT & SKEEZIX, SO MANY SPLENDID SUNDAYS, POPEYE, PEANUTS, LITTLE ORPHAN ANNIE, etc etc.
