Common Knowledge and Mostly Unrelated to Design

I found this read to be a very basic beginners guide to thinking about how people see and think rather than a useful tool for how to utilize this information as a designer. Many of the '100 Things' were common knowledge like "people recognize patterns" and "smells evoke memories". There is not a lot of value past skimming the headers for each chapter since a majority of the content is just repeated with more technical terms. Most of the information is basic human behavior, which is fine, although the author rarely makes any connection to how these things relate to being a designer. The content that is related to being a designer is somewhat outdated and mostly focused around web-design from the early to mid 2000s. The writing style also leaves something to be desired, the chapters are short (usually just a page or two) but not very interesting which is a red flag when writing a book about understanding user motivations.
