A yaoi romance between a good boy who didn't know he was waiting for a hero, and a bad boy who comes to his rescue Now a hit streaming anime "I don't like caramel sauce. I prefer something bitter..." Masahiro Setagawa doesn't believe in heroes, but wishes he could: He's found himself in a gang of small-time street bullies who use him to run errands. But when high school teacher (and scourge of the streets) Kousuke Ohshiba comes to his rescue, he finds he may need to start believing after all...and as their relationship deepens, he realizes a hero might be just what he was looking for this whole time.
Hitorijime My Hero Volume 1 (Masahiro is Holding Out for a Hero in Kousuke)

Hitorijime My Hero is the series following the only book called Hitorijime Boyfriend. At this point, Asaya and Ken are together, but Masahiro is the complete opposite. For the past couple of years, Masahiro has looked up to his hero and part-time math teacher, Kousuke. All the guys recollect old memories, like when Kousuke and Ken met Masahiro and picked up Sasa the cat. Masahiro's eyes are opened when Kousuke turns him down flat. Masahiro tries to forget it; however, Kousuke steals a kiss from Masahiro at school. Asaya can see Masahiro's feelings from a mile away, but the rest of their guy friends (Ken, Shige, Yamabe, and Chairman Yoshida) are oblivious. While Masahiro tries to shut Kousuke from his mind, he runs into some old gangster "friends" of his. Masahiro distances himself from Ken and the rest of the boys, including Kousuke. After some words from Asaya, Kousuke rushes to Masahiro's side and defends him from the gangsters (led by Toru). The Bear Killer – AKA Kousuke – seems to have the upper hand until Masahiro gets involved. But despite the battle scars, there are two lights in the dark: Kousuke and his secret wife, Masahiro. Masahiro has one little problem: it's the guys' new friend called Yunge, a master in the kitchen. The next volume may show the battle of the chiefs.
Memeco Arii has presented two captivating relationships. Kousuke, Masahiro, Asaya, and Ken are four men who had to break through the barriers intercepting their love for one another. I can see the difference between the characters in the first two volumes. All the characters are more well-developed in this volume than in Hitorijime Boyfriend. I would recommend this series to anyone who loves BL manga. Also, I would highly recommend the anime as well. I believe that the timeline is more developed and makes more sense in the anime than in the manga, but I still love the manga. I am curious to see new scenes that haven't been put in the anime.
