حفظ أبي القرآن الكريم في طفولته، ثم أمَّ الناس في المسجد عند شبابه.لكنَّ هذا الرجل المستمر على درجة متوازنة (مستدامة) من التدين طوال حياته، كان أيضًا يكتب الشعر التأملي والوجداني وشعر الغزل تحديداً، ويقرأ المجلات الأدبية الصادرة من الداخل ومن الخارج ومن المهجر، ويأتي بها إلى بيته لتكون بمثابة (اللقاح) لأبنائه.حين زارني في باريس، كان حرصه على رؤية برج إيفل لا يقلُّ عن حرصه على زيارة جامع باريس الكبير، واهتمامه بمعرفة أحوال الجالية المسلمة هناك لا يقلُّ عن اهتمامه بمعرفة المقاهي العتيقة التي كان يجلس فيها أدباء فرنسا.هذه المعادلة المتوازنة بين الدين والدنيا ليست حكراً على أبي، لكنها ليست معادلة هيّنة، ولذا فالقادرون على تطبيقها قلّة، كان أبي أحدهم.
My father memorized the Holy Qur'an in his childhood, and then the mother of the people in the mosque when he was young, but this man who continued to maintain a balanced (sustained) degree of religiosity throughout his life, he also wrote contemplative and sentimental poetry and ghazal poetry in particular, and read literary magazines issued from inside and outside the diaspora, and brought them to his home to serve as a "vaccine" for his children. This balanced equation between religion and the world is not exclusive to my father, but it is not an easy one, so few people are able to apply it, my father was one of them.
