The Legend of Korra – The Art of the Animated Series: Book Three: Change (Everything Changed)

The Legend of Korra – The Art of the Animated Series: Book Three: Change starts with David Faustino’s foreword, the voice actor of Mako, who expresses his gratitude for the wonderful role he got to play on Team Avatar. This book showcases all the fantastic art and the wonderful people who made it. Avatars are always meant to bring balance to the world, and Avatars Aang and Korra did just that. For over a century, the Air Nation was hardly there. Aang was the only Airbender for a time. Aang founded the Air Acolytes, who cared for the air temples until they could be refilled. Then Aang and Katara had Tenzin, then Tenzin and Pema had Jinora, Ikki, and Meelo. The Air Nation began to form again, especially when Avatar Korra kept the spirit portals open, allowing a new age to dawn. The Airbenders populated the temples again. Korra’s personality changed too. She used to be a hothead Avatar, but in this season, she sacrifices herself for the Air Nation. Of course, the villains change as well. The Red Lotus member Zaheer also gets airbending. His martial arts skills and knowledge of Airbending allow him to adapt to his new abilities. There is much to uncover in the art book, which details many of the behind-the-scenes changes. I would recommend reading this book and all the others to see the connection between the locations in both shows. You might be shocked to see who inhabited each place; I certainly was. And the art is always interesting to stare at, especially the covers. I love all these books and the valuable information in them.
