The Legend of Korra – The Art of the Animated Series: Book Four: Balance begins with Seychelle Gabriel’s foreword, the voice actress of Asami. Shockingly, this was her first voice-over job, and she did it flawlessly, much like Asami herself. Following Seychelle’s foreword and the rest, Michael Dante DiMartino, Bryan Konietzko, and Joaquim Dos Santos’s introductions. Each member of Team Avatar did an amazing job creating the Avatar shows we know and love. Each one of these art books takes a deep dive into the behind-the-scenes artwork and what it took to make the show. Balance is a much-talked-about concept in the Avatarverse. The Avatar brings balance to the world. So much information and art is contained inside these books; I can’t even remember it all. I always love the book covers. They sum up the whole show in one image. I love how large Asami and Tenzin’s heads are at the bottom of the image, demonstrating how important characters they are to Korra’s life. (*Note: I have all the second editions.) The picture of Korra and Asami having the “Turtle-Duck Date Night” is so pretty. I love Korra and Asami as a couple. I recommend reading all the art books to see how Team Avatar was made, their clothes, the technology, and so on. It took so much effort to make the Colossus alone.
