This text is a wonderful book for people seeking numbers. By that I mean some of us understand things better when we can see the numbers. It contains all the usual information in a colorful inviting format, and it also contains all those numbers it would take hours and hours and hours of websearching to find: the endurance, strength, cardio-vascular, BMI, calories needed, etc. all done by age and gender that help a person do a self-evaluation of their health and then set reasonable goals for attaining a better level of health. Also, as a homeschool parent, I found it contained all the info necessary to design a wonderful program for our students. The price can be hard to swallow, but this is one that is truly worth it. This is the book for which we've all been waiting when it comes to health info. It works extremely well for those trying to work with the Florida State-mandated HOPE course (~Health Opportunities with Physical Education). Kudos to the author!
