Yet Another Awesome OSHO book - this one on Kundalini....

I spend 8 years of my life with Osho (1982-1990) and can testify to the fact that he had an absolutely transformative effect on thousands (perhaps hundreds of thousands)of people. On the surface, he was an outlandish fun-loving guru, with a wicked sense of humor and a carnival-like ashram atmosphere around him. Beneath the surface, he was a master alchemist working on very subtle and profound levels of consciousness with many of his disciples. This book (which has some of the talks included in the original version: "The Mystic Experience") deals with those subtle levels that you begin to experience once you go DEEP into meditation. "Kundalini", "Chakras", "Energy Bodies" "Prana" cease to be theories and instead become lived realities. For any serious meditator following the path of "kundalini", "yoga", "tantra" or any of the Indian spiritual traditions, I highly recommend this book as it deals with the experiences that will happen to you, as you go deeper in your meditative practice. The original version of this book: "The Mystic Experience" by Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh published in 1977 in India, includes more talks on this subject matter that aren't included in this text. The original version is 543 pages long and is highly recommended (if you can find it). As to all the doubters: take it from someone who was there, with him in the flesh - Osho was a Mount Everest among spiritual masters. His energy was (and continues to be in esoteric realms) of such magnitude as to be indescribable. Words cannot describe the Oceanic Vastness of his vibrational presence. I am profoundly grateful to this man who revolutionized my life and the life of so many others who came to know him, and who continue to access his spirit through his legacy. The true meaning of this book cannot be understood by the intellect. To truly grasp what this book is talking about, you will have to undertake your own meditative journey. Excellant Book

This is perhaps the best book I have ever read in my life. I recommend every Osho lover to read this book.

A mind-bending book.

This the most clear and precise explanation of the chakra and energy body system I have ever seen. This book explains the process of spiritual growth, the levels of enlightenment, practices such as sexual Tantra, and many other topics in a direct, no-nonsense way. The amount of information is staggering, and you will get new insights each time you read the book.In light of the first review, I would point out that this book was originally published in 1977 under the title The Mystic Experience, and was not a commentary on Ospensky's book In Search of the Miraculous.

In search of a next step after Ouspensky

I am not a follower of Rajneesh, but happened to have read a large number of his books. This book, with an echo of a book by Ouspensky with a similar title, could be recommended as an escape hatch for that cul-de-sac of 'esotericism'. And a reminder that the contents of spiritual books don't really address what they seem to address. Rajneesh was a controversial guru, to say the least, but, his movement apart (which may have outstripped Gurdjieff groups for nuttiness), his works can be useful for dismissing as fog the hard fixation created by Ouspensky's strange and toxic reactionary 'spiritual' path, by blowing away the pretenses of degenerate versions of 'sufism' and by showing them all to be variants of Indian methods of meditation, by and large. This work, however, has its own context, kundalini, a pile of rubbish, which was not Rajneesh's forte, this context shows that the content or doctrine is without importance. Rajneesh is talking past the content to something else, and, remarkably, was truly enlightened yet could spout nonsense about sacred traditions. Note, then, these traditions will simply confuse you, since they seem to have confused an Enlightened man. Worth remembering in the useless concoction of cosmic hydrogens and theosophical esoteric nonsense called Gurdjieffianity that catches too many in a helpless passivity, when the basic and invariable message is very simple,no bottled water required, as old as the Upanishads, and not controllable by the pretensions of those who run the usual rundown 'sufi' schools for profit, or other motives. As to Rajneesh and his movement, it is a classic instance of total confusion, and we are reduced to studying this Buddha as a speciment of Murphy's Law of Enlightenment. His movement really stank.

Osho has written a masterpiece of secret esoteric knowledge about man and his spiritual evolution. Osho (a genuine realized spiritual master) reveals so much profound truth that it will awaken the reader to the "real" truth about himself and his destiny.Another realized spiritual master that reveals and explains how to achieve spiritual growth is Sri Chinmoy in his books (especially "Beyond Within" and "Meditation").
