Revisit the series and get your preorders in!

By Ashly Moore Sheldon • October 21, 2026

ACOTAR fans have been in a frenzy ever since last March, when Sarah J. Maas announced the long-awaited release of two new books in the A Court of Thorns and Roses series. After all, it's been more than five years since the release of book five.

Now we're just shy of a week away from the release of book six, A Court of Splintered Harmony, and we're dying to get our hands on a copy to see what's coming next. Here's what we know about the story so far.

Koschei the Deathless is stirring. And his imminent return attracts powerful allies hell-bent on reclaiming what was once theirs: the human lands.

As Prythian pieces itself together in the wake of the devastating Hybern War, The Night Court is struggling to prepare for the threat.

To make matters worse, those who rule and protect the Night Court are reeling from recent betrayals and revealed truths.

But to defeat Koschei's creeping shadow, they must resurrect their former alliances and repair the splintered harmony all around them.

And we only have a few months to wait before book seven, A Court of Forgotten Melody, comes out on January 12 continuing the saga. It's not too early to preorder!

The original collection

Maas

  • A Court of Thorns and Roses—After young huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a terrifying creature appears and drags her to a treacherous, magical land of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled her world.
  • A Court of Mist and Fury—Now that she's been granted the powers of lifespan of the High Fae, Feyre navigates a dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power. Meanwhile, a greater evil looms.
  • A Court of Wings and Ruin—Feyre has returned to the Spring Court, determined to gather information on Tamlin's actions and learn what she can about the invading king threatening to bring her land to its knees.
  • A Court of Frost and Starlight—Feyre, Rhysand, and their friends are still busy rebuilding and recovering from the war that changed everything. But the reprieve of Winter Solstice is finally approaching.
  • A Court of Silver Flames—After being forced into the Cauldron and reluctantly becoming High Fae, Feyre's fiery sister Nesta finds an unlikely connection with battle-scarred warrior Cassian.
