Kathy Reichs Profile Picture

A forensic anthropologist as well as a bestselling crime writer, Kathy Reichs is on leave from her position as professor of anthropology at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She also works as a forensic anthropologist for the Laboratoire des Sciences Judiciares et de Medecine Legale for the province of Quebec. Born in 1948 in Chicago, Kathleen Joan Toelle Reichs earned her B.A. in anthropology from American University, then an M.A. and a Ph.D. in physical anthropology from Northwestern University. In addition to teaching at a number of prestigious universities, she has served as an expert witness, consulted, and lectured internationally. Reichs is a producer for Bones, the television series inspired by her life and writing. She now divides her time between Charlotte, North Carolina and Montreal, Canada.
