Outstanding, for a start...

I am a consultant, working by myself (president and chief bottle-washer) out of my home in suburban Baltimore. I've heard good things about this book, but was unable to locate a copy until last week. I was finally able to get a (used) copy of Working Alone, and having read it and believed it thoroughly, it has earned an honored spot atop my desk, and will remain there indefinitely. This is a sure "must-read" for anybody out on his own. A lesson on every page (well, maybe not _every_ page, but close). Count me as a big fan...

A Useful and Pleasurable Book

Much has been said and written about working alone. However, I agree with my fellow reviewers that nobody has said or written about it better than the author of "Working Alone." There's a lesson on every page, and every lesson has embedded into it sufficient humor, severity, and larceny to make it more than worthwhile reading. I've been out on my own for 18 months now, and this book will, I am certain, make it possible for me to make it for another 18 years. Very highly recommended...

A most impressive book...

I have been working alone for the last three months, and my guiding light has been this little volume. I recommend it highly to anyone starting out on her own, as it provides a maximum of good advice in a minimum of space. Lots of good sense, and the man doesn't look down his nose at us "rookies." I read it at one sitting, and it has been at my elbow for reference, since.

Masterful work...

A very practical set short pieces aimed at new and practicing entrepreneurial "soloists." Lots of good, real work-a-day situations discussed in a most easy-to-read fashion. Author shows a good sense of reality along with a superb sense of humor... Well worth buying, reading, and keeping.

Buy it..it's that good

I've never reviewed a book before, so lets just say that, after reading the other reviews for "Working Alone" I decided to pick it up, and I'm forever glad I did. Great book, great insight, great writing.
