Paris, historical war romance world war ll

A Stunning Novel ! Beautifully written, it will captivate you from the very beginning!! I stayed up many nights reading, to two thirty in the morning, with clenched teeth and aching jaws, especially towards the last chapters ! It's a very powerful story, of lost love, and heartbreak, friendship, love found, and hope. It begins as the Nazi's start to occupy Paris, An American Ballerina, Lucie Girard , who has lived in Paris for the last six years, takes over her beloved dear friends English language bookstore, so they can take passage to America, as they are Jewish, and starting to fear for their lives by what they see and hear, and of how antisemitic laws would soon prohibit any Jewish citizens from owning a business.Lucie takes over the book store, and is struggling just to keep it afloat, as many French and American Authors have been ban, plus the book list that states what she can't sell is growing longer and longer. On top of this, her store is used by The Resistance Fighters, to pass secret messages back and forth that are hidden between pages of the books in her shop. She secretly loves that she can be of assistance to the Resistance Fighters and their cause, to be able to help the war effort in some small way. At the same time there is a handsome widower Paul Aubrey, who is an American Citizen, who wants nothing more than to return to the states with his 4 yr old daughter Josie, who are both dealing with the tragic and devastating loss of his wife and his daughters mother, who just died a year ago from cancer through her bones. Paul is approached by a very good friend, who works for The U. S. Army, in the Paris Embassy, and asks him to stay and keep his Auto Factory operating, and take any information he hears in general conversations, that the Germans who come into his Auto plant, discuss about the war, and the tanks, and trucks that they use. As the Germans are now utilizing his factory for their trucks and Van's , whatever he hears, he reports to his friend at the Embassy, as it would be helping out the US war effort considerably. As the war progresses even further, Paul is asked to help hide British RAF pilots in the store rooms of his factory, till they can be passed on to others, and safely smuggled out of Paris. All of this he is willing to do, but his friends know nothing about the good things he does, such as the eavesdropping and info he gathers, or the down pilots he hides. They just accuse him of being a German Collaborator, because of the trucks he HAS to produce for the Germans. With no choice in the matter. He Meets Lucie from the bookstore, and is immediately taken by her as she is with him and his little girl Josie. But as she hears of the stories of his collaboration...does she trust him, should she let herself fall for him..will love grow and win in the end ? Oh My God it's just SOOOO GOOD! I definitely recommend this amazing story by this Fabulous Writer ! Worthy of more than five stars ! You WILL NOT be disappointed! FYI She has a new to be named book out in 2023, Can't wait!!!

WWll Romance

Until Leaves Fall in Paris by Sarah Sundin is a World War two stand-alone novel. American ballerina Lucie Girard has been in Paris since childhood. First studying dance and then dancing at the ballet. Now, with the Nazi’s invading Paris she buys her favorite bookstore in order that the Jewish owners may flee. Auto maker Paul Aubrey meets Lucie while shopping in her store. Will war take all that they hold dear or will they have the courage to fight for what is theirs? This story was so gripping from the first page to the last. It would make an awesome movie! The suspense was intense. I loved Lucie’s character. She had the courage to do the right thing even when she thought she wasn’t very smart. I received this book from the publisher for my honest review.

Enthralling and Exquisite!

Sarah Sundin knocks it out of the park AGAIN in this home-run of a novel! Read this book cover to cover within 24 hours. PSA: be sure to set an alarm to remind yourself to get up and stretch your legs and stay hydrated…you won’t want to put this book down! Lucie, Paul, and Josie are all equally lovable and fascinating. The lessons and perspectives they each brought were wonderful. Love the historical nuggets Sarah places throughout the story so that I don’t just feel like I’m reading a story but I’m also learning some history. This was the first book of Ms. Sundin’s that actually made me cry…not so much “sad” crying, but certain moments were just so exceptionally moving. Bravo, Sarah! Also loved the little references to a few characters from When Twilight Breaks. A sweet little bonus for those who have read that novel (and you should read it!). Now waiting for 2023…book #3 can’t arrive soon enough!
