Book Overview

The Game On Diet is not a diet. It's a bold new approach to fitness that turns the latest, smartest, most successful health science into a fun, fierce, and exhilarating game. Developed by Az Ferguson, to help Grey's Anatomy writer Krista Vernoff shed forty pounds of postpregnancy weight, it is the ideal program for busy people who should be working out but have a thousand good excuses not to.

Az keeps you motivated and Krista keeps you...

Makes weightloss fun and do-able

I love this book, Krista is hilarious and reading the book is like getting information from an old friend. (A friend with a horrible potty mouth though. She said F^ & % about 100 times in the book, and several other cuss words through out each page... and I consider myself to have somewhat of a potty mouth and was still somewhat offended. It just seemed unnecessary at times.) That being said, I LOVE the concept of the book, and have fallen in love with Krista's personality. She is so REAL and honest. I have played a "round" with friends and am on my free week right now and I honestly can't wait to start playing again. My life seems to run smoother when I am playing. It isn't just about weight loss, it is life changing. She has you give up a bad habit and incorporate a good habit. In fact, the "bad" habit part of the game is harder than the food. About myself and dieting: I have tried SO MANY diets it is embarrassing. Two that I had most success with were Body for Life & weight watchers, but both of those left me feeling so deprived I couldn't wait to be "Done". With "Game on" I lost 11 lbs in the first 2 weeks and I HONESTLY did not feel deprived. When I start feeling deprived it is time for my free meal, then a few more days is my free day. I LOVE IT! My sugar cravings are lower than they have ever been, I am sure it has everything to do with the timing of meals, the restriction of white breads, sugar and soda's. I can't say enough good things about the GAME. I LOVE a good competition and I LOVE winning. Even when I don't win, it is fun and I still lose weight. And the support of the game can't be found any where else. Trust me I have looked. I had even set up my own support group more than once, but for some reason the teams and competition really makes a difference for me. I love this book and recommend it to anyone who has lost hope of ever being successful at dieting. That is where I was before I found this. Thanks Krista and Az!

Game On is the real deal!

I have now played two rounds of Game on, and I will soon do a third. This offers great incentive for real lifestyle changes. By about week 3 of the second round, I really hit a point where I felt that this could be a permanent change. This is a big difference from previous "diets". All of us playing agree that the team aspect is the motivation that is keeping us on track. I will say though that I am disappointed in the writing in the book. I am not a prude, but frankly, the F-bomb every page just shows lack of imagination in her writing. Everyone I know that has read this has commented on the same thing. Anyway, read it, play it, live it!

A fun way to get fit and lead a better life

The game on diet is really fun. My wife and I and my two sisters are all playing and having a blast. The first couple of days were really tough for me as I've always been the kind of person who eats whatever he wants (and until age 30 got away with it). After a couple of days though I can't imagine eating or living differently. Thanks Krista and AZ!

The Game On Diet

If you like competition, this book is for you. It is no-nonsense healthy lifestyle changes that are very doable. Form teams of friends and challenge other teams to a Game On lifestyle makeover. There are seven areas in which participants compete, racking up points along the way: food, water exercise, sleep, one healthy habit you incorporate into your daily life, one unhealthy habit you get rid of and connecting on a daily basis with teammates and competitors. This book and game could change your life in a hugely positive way. I highly recommend The Game On Diet. While the book is humorous, it is laced with a few obscenities that don't seem necessary.

Game on!

I really liked this book. The whole idea of getting a friend involved in the madness--I mean the weight loss--is great! I found it very motivating and something I can defintely see myself doing. It's a great idea, a great concept and will help those of us who need help in this area. A high recommend, along with Goodbye, Fatty! Hello, Skinny! How I Lost Weight And Still Ate The Foods I Loved-Without Dieting.
