A delightful gem

This book is effortlessly enjoyable and surprisingly heartwarming. Plague 99 introduced me to Ms. Ure's gifts, this one can prompt you to actively search for more of her work. The delicate and sincere tone of this book elevates what could have been a mushy story.

very good and an easy read

I read this book for the first time when I was in high school. I found the love story between abe who was twentysomething blind man and Marrianna who was an awkward 16 year old terrific. I thought it was a unique twist on the classic young adult love story. This book allows people to view a man who is blind in a way most readers never do. Abe is a normal young guy except that he can not see with his eyes. Also, I was excited to find the sequel to this book 'After Thursday'. It picks up where this book ends! If anyone knows of a third sequel to this book please let me know!!

A Perfect Read for a Young Reader

I really enjoyed reading this book. I was packing up my brother's books because we are moving and I found it among his books. I was interested in it and started to read it. I read it in a couple of hours for it is quite short but the message that it sends is unforgetable. It teaches us to think of the blind as not only the blind, but as people as well. Marianne was uncomfortable with Abe at first but soon started to really enjoy his company and would forget about his blindness. It was a very touching young romance. The only thing that I didn't quite enjoy was the quick ending. They were talking and all of a sudden it ends. For a minute there I thought that pages had been ripped out! But besides that it's great!
