Cute little book

This book talks about the critters (still can't figure out what they are exactly) being especially helpful to their mother one week so their dad takes them to the toy store for a special treat. They are allowed to pick out anything they want so the little guy's sister picks out a microscope and he, well, just cannot make up his mind. When the critter (there's no name mentioned for him) finally makes up his mind, he gets a dinosaur that falls apart before he gets it home. His dad tries to fix it but it promptly falls apart again. The critter throws a tantrum, gets sent to his room for doing so, but then gets to go back to the store for a replacement. This book is cute overall but it does institute words like "dumb" when describing his sister. I don't think that's appropriate for preschoolers and kids get enough ideas on how to torment their siblings without a book calling their siblings' choices "dumb." This series doesn't replace the Berenstain Bears at all - you don't have to worry about language with those books. These, however, you do. We just received a couple of these books and both of them introduce this type of language. The story is cute in this book, but just remember to skip over the language.
