Remarkably succinct guide for community development workers

As someone who has been working across cultures and in community development for many, many years I rarely find a book as accessible as this little book and which I feel inclined to recommend to newbies going into practice. Si Kahn is a social worker and folk singer who knows his stuff. He bluntly talks about power and what it takes for ordinary people to achieve the power they must have to make a place for themselves in our modern world. I highly recommend it along with his other longer text, "Grass Roots Organizing". Read this along with "Getting to Yes" and you are ready to go out and make a difference!
