German import is a gem!

The pint-sized hero of this book by German author Dietlof Reiche is a somewhat conceited, certified smart-guy and a GREAT storyteller. The fact that he's also a golden hamster makes it even better. If you've read "I, Houdini" (by the British author who also wrote the Indian in the Cupboard), you'll love Reiche's five novels about Freddy the golden hamster and his friends. While it is a children's book, adults who like adventure will also love Freddy to the Rescue.
