Excellent book

I got this book yesterday in the mail and I'm so happy bout it lol. Very happy decided to purchase this book. I finally learned portion size along with calorie counting . Bob really broke it down to me bout it . Love the information also the excercise looks exciting to do . Wondering where I could print out the work book page he gave (Bob) as a sample. But overall awesome book . Very detailed breaks things done . Uses other people stories as examples to help me with my problems .

Helps you find the root cause of your weight problems!

It's rare that I take the time to get online to give a review of a product I have purchased. This book has made such an impact in my life in just a few short days that I had to get on and write about it. I first heard about the book in an advertisement in Oxygen Magazine. I admit I got it for the workouts and diet plan, and figured his no nonsense approach would be a good fit for my personality. I was not expecting his "inner compass" work to do me much good. Boy was I shocked. He teaches you that you have to stop and think about why you want to eat when you do - if it's hunger related or emotion related - and if it's emotion related to stop and think about what your feelings are and why you're wanting to overeat. My main problem was I was eating all the time at work. I was good at home - but at work I was terrible. Since reading this book and getting "in touch" with my feelings - I have discovered that I only reach for food when faced with a task that I don't want to do. So instead I reach for food to distract me, or to make the task seem less grueling. Now I know we all have our own reasons for why we overeat... but to finally get the real reason means I'm now able to deal with it. Knowledge is power. I've also learned to stop beating myself up and to accept my accomplishments. For so long I berate myself, truly believing I was a failure because I had not reached my overall weight loss goal. I didn't see the 70 pounds I have lost and kept off as an accomplishment because I've been stagnant and haven't lost the rest. Now I force myself to recognize what I have done, and take pride in that. I just think this book is excellent if you really read it and do the exercises, and really try to get to the root cause of your weight problems. I highly recommend, and plan on giving it to some of my close friends in the hopes that it will touch their life as it has touched mine.

Bob Harper's book is about achieving lasting weight loss using his diet, exercise plan, and advice on self worth. He believes someone whose self worth may be damaged needs to find at least one thing they like about themselves. There is an emotional component to weight loss and Bob focuses on that as well as the more practical issues. Great Book to get your life Back on track

Bob really does a good job with this book. Well written and easy to understand. He has alot of good themes to follow to change your life forever. I have read alot of Bob Greene's Books(Oprah's trainer) and he and Bob have alot in common on their approach. Each as some different ideas but all in all both are great reads. I will recommend this book to my friends. Good job Bob!

Fantastic

I've been watching Bob Harper since he started on The Biggest Loser, and his book is just like he is on TV--positive and upbeat. It's all about fixing what is wrong with you emotionally before attempting to fix what's wrong with your diet. He is all about empowerment and shares personal stories to help solidify the need to balance your Inner Compass. The nutrition advice is really helpful, and it never seems like he's telling you what to do. Instead, he shares with you and reinforces the fact that you shouldn't give up if you mess up once or twice. He stresses effort, and discipline that comes with personal growth. This is definitely a book for beginners. This book, coupled with his Biggest Loser workout DVD, will have you well on the right track toward living a better, more healthful life. Thanks Bob.
