His keen tactical understanding of the game has made him a favourite on BBC TV's Match of the Day, Grandstand and Sportsnight. Alan Hansen is one of the most successful British soccer players of all time. In 1986 he captained Liverpool to a historic double, and he is the only person to have won all the honours available at the club level at least twice. In A Matter of Opinion he looks back at fourteen victorious years at Anfield, during which Liverpool won eight league championships, eight Charly Shields, four League Cups and three European Cups.
