Fantastic!!!!!!!!

Having read the 1st Westmorland book "Delaney's desert sheikh" I couldn't wait to get on with the next one in the series, "A little Dare". I don't think I have ever read one so fast. One afternoon from start to finish & it left me wanting more. I have bk. 3 "Thorn's challenge, which i'm just about to start, but after that I have to wait for them to be released here. That is going to be a long & unbearable wait for me. This series is fantastic. It was great seeing Dare's parents in this one & seeing Delaney, Jamal & their son Ari. Thank you Brenda for giving us these Westmoreland's. They are fantastic & I can't wait for the rest.

Brenda Jackson does it again

A Little Dare -- is true to the romantic writing style of Brenda Jackson. I enjoyed reading how Shelly Brockman decides to return to her hometown to give her son a chance to get to know his father, Dare Westmoreland. Jackson, does a great job involving small town politics, family and true love. An awesome read that will definitely wet your appetitie for romance with very sensual love scenes.

A Little Dare Uncovered

Brenda Jackson has done it again. This time with the Westmoreland family. The Westmoreland men -- Dare, Thorn, Stone, Storm and Chase -- are they heading on the same level as the Madaris men? "A Little Dare" is Sheriff Dare Westmoreland's and Shelly Brockman's story. Almost 11 years have passed since Dare and Shelly have been together. Shelly leaves town because of her love for Dare and she did not want to infringe on his goals and desires for his life. Shelly decides to return to her hometown for personal reasons and also tries to keep her "bundle" a secret. However, looks and time will tell. Also, the Westmoreland family is a fierce and protective family and accepts what is theirs. By luck, Sheriff Dare comes face to face with what Shelly has been hiding all these years. Not only does Sheriff Dare, but the entire Westmoreland clan along with the town folk realize that Shelly originally left town because of "a little Dare."Shelly and Dare come together and realize that the love they shared years ago is still alive. Is it enough for them to survive and start their lives over? Can they dare not to act on them. Not only are their lives involved, but also the life of their son - Little Dare - who at this time in his life is faced with challenges of his own. "A Little Dare" is a good book. Ms. Jackson has definitely done it again. The Dare brothers are fierce, good looking men and are to be reckoned with. However, their sister, Delaney, is just as fierce and has a mind of her own, as well as her own story in "Delaney's Desert Sheikh." I eagerly await the other Westmoreland's men stories. I hope there is a story for Storm, Chase, and Stone. I also enjoyed "Thorn's Challenge."

This is what real romance is about. . .

FIRST OF ALL let me say "Thank You!!!" to Ms. Jackson for writing such a great book. Most Harlequin romance novels are so unbelievable I have to force myself to finish them. I sometimes wonder who goes through such drama in their lives. The other thing I love is the fact that Ms. Jackson doesn't take 3-4 chapters to get to the point. You have most of the setup that you'll need by the middle of chapter 2 and the love story builds from there.That said, "A Little Dare" was amazing, realistic, and touching. After 10 years, Rochelle "Shelly" Brockman moves back to her childhood home with her son AJ. She's trying to give AJ a new start in life and remove him from the negative influence of his so-called friends in Los Angeles. She also hopes AJ will develop a relationship with his father, Dare Westmoreland. The only problem is that Dare doesn't know he has a son.Now, in most Harlequin romances, the supposed hero would storm angrily into the heroine's life and forcibly demand a relationship with mother and son, leaving the rest of the story to his anger, supposed "revenge," and unrealistic turnaround. I was SO relieved to find out that wasn't what happened in this book. Dare picks up AJ and holds him at the sheriff's office for throwing rocks at passing cars. He doesn't realize AJ is his son (he didn't see the Westmoreland features in AJ's face) until Shelly shows up at the sheriff's office to pick him up. Once Dare has AJ's full name and birthday, he realizes AJ is his son. Dare is eager to establish a relationship with his son and he and Shelly scheme to have AJ break the news of his paternity to a (supposedly) unwitting Dare so that AJ will feel that he made the decision to have Dare as his dad (especially since AJ hates cops).The rest of the story revolves around Dare's attempts to get his son to respect and admire him enough to ask him to be his dad. Shelly doesn't stand in Dare's way; in fact, she encourages AJ to spend time with Dare and get to know him. She doesn't realizes that Dare has also decided he won't live without his childhood sweetheart anymore and is very openly wooing her back.With an amazing supporting cast, including all four of Dare's brothers (Thorn, Chase, Storm, and Stone), his parents, and the entire town of College Park, Georgia, this book is great reading if you want a realistic love story without anger, suspicion, hatred, silly plot and misunderstandings, and bad guys. This is a love story that could happen in real life. THIS IS A LOVE STORY WORTH READING!!!

Dare is HOT

What can I say? Brenda does it again. This second book in the series about the Westmorelands (the first being Delaney's Desert Sheik) is just as great as the first. Of course, no Brenda book is without some serious sensuality, a lot of romance and a helluva story line. Ms. Jackson just can't write a bad book. Can't wait to read Storm's Challenge. The only problem I have is that Harlequin makes these books so short. But for $4.25, it is still worth every penny.
