Jerome Preisler at His Best

Jerome Preisler has written a wonderfully clever and entertaining book, his magnum opus, which obviously is based on extensive historical research. Preisler either has a time machine or access to an unknown (to others) cache of old manuscripts from early California sources; otherwise, he could never have provided the book with such unquestioned authenticity. ZORRO AND THE JAGUAR WARRIORS convinces me Zorro was a real person, possibly Joaquin Murrieta but most probably Don Quixote de la Orroz who, with his servant, Sancho Panza de Sewell, are known to have despoiled numerous Cult of the Jaguar temples, windmills and wineries in the pueblo of Los Angelos between February 4 am on 28, 1805 and 3 am on May 18, 1820. Regretably, Jerome Preisler has not, to my knowledge continued to write fiction based on fact but most recently has written fact based on fiction (ALL HANDS DOWN). It is respectfully suggested he return to writing in the sub-genre he has mastered as shown by ZORRO AND THE JAGUAR WARRIORS.

Guy Williams meets Ancient Aztecs

This book is an easy read for any Zorro fan. It combines elements from the 1950's Disney Zorro series, starring Guy Williams with a plotline from the new Saturday morning cartoon "Zorro" now running in syndication. Not much of a swashbuckler, but still an interesting story.

Marvelous new Zorro book.

This book has all of the virtues of Johnston McCulley's original Mark of Zorro, (great action scenes, wonderful sense of 'Old California', but without the cliches or the rather uncomfortable racial slurs. Can't wait for the next book in the series.
