The first people to colonize the moon were astronauts. As time progressed and the colony became a large hubbub for space operations, ninety percent of the maintenance workers were the first-generation androids, termed Technologics. With the development of consciousness in the Technologics and their growing community, it was inevitable that they required their own individualized living space, which in time became Android City. By the early twenty-third century, the androids were thriving in expanding populations located in colonies on the dark side of the Moon, as well as colonies on Mars, which were well established. Mining operations were in full swing and governments on Earth were in constant conflict over how Mars should be politically divided.
