This is a book based on science and possible events that could occur in the setting in which the story is placed. It is largely a mystery coupled with a hard sci-fi story in which there is no magic (except in the writing, of course.) It leads to an expedition into an unexplored area of Siberia where strange and unusual things can happen and unusual creatures may be encountered. There are issues raised about how people get along in close quarters during stressful events and how they adapt to new environments.
