Definately A Must Have Book For A New Owner

This is a must have book for a new owner. I found it to be very helpful and an easy read. After reading a few other books I still had many unanswered questions. This book answered almost all of them! In the future I will buy all books about Zebra Finches written buy Hans-Jurgen Martin.

Hands down this is the one book for under ...that any zebra finch hobbyists should own. As an experienced breeder and keeper of finches on a large scale, I recommend this book for anyone who might consider keeping zebra finches as pets. I recommend the book so strongly that I purchase a stock of copies of this book and make them available to new finch keepers at my cost whenever people seek to acquire birds from our breeding program.The book has enough detail for people who want to go beyond the simple basics, but is well written and easy enough to understand for even the most introductory pet owner. Parents whose children want to keep a pet bird, should buy this book for them first and then read it together before purchasing any pet bird.My recommendation is to buy this book first and then proceed to acquire some healthy zebra finches on the path to an enjoyable and rewarding lifelong relationship with pet birds. Finches are some of the only birds that we can provide with full and active lifestyles in captivity and zebra finches are some of the best choices for keeping real birds that engage in real bird behavior in close proximity with our human environment.

A very good book to start off with

This little book tells you most of what you need to know about these charming little birds. The illustrations are excellent and I found the section on understanding these hyperactive little birds very interesting.
