Three by Zane Grey

This compilation of three Zane Grey novels could have better assembled. I mean the three stories do not go well together. Each of them would have been better paired with other novels. Light of Western Stars would have worked better with its sequel Majesty's Rancho, and Desert Gold. The Mysterious Rider needed a book more along the likes of The Trail Driver, and West of the Pecos. The Last Trail needed its two companion novels, Betty Zane and The Spirit of the Border, because they are the three books which make up the Ohio Valley Trilogy, or Zane Grey's Frontier Trilogy. That is the reason for the 4 stars, the compilation, not the individual novels, although The Last Trail is not quite as good as the other two. Still, if one is to have every book published with Zane Grey's name on it, then this book is well worth purchasing.
