Powerful story

Tari Faris and Susan May Warren have penned a powerful novel of redemption, love and forgiveness. It was great returning to Taris' town of Heritage and all the familiar people and places there. Grace, a prima ballerina has worked all her life to be at the top but is sidelined because of an injury (that she is determined to overcome). But little does she know that Seth, a former friend is back in town (and they have a history). He is a recovering drug addict and 'the Storm' from a Ninja Warrior TV show. Their paths cross repeatedly in not so friendly ways. I love these characters and the pace of this story. This tale pulls at your heartstrings and weaves these lives together as only God can do. Well done, Susie and Tari! Thank you to Tari for allowing me to read this ARC. The opinions are entirely my own.

Sweet Romance

Unconditional love is the theme of this book. Heritage is a place to come home to. The community always comes together to welcome new people and help old friends heal. There is a strong faith element in these books. The author covers topics such as drug abuse and addiction, childhood trauma, forgiveness, friendship, accountability, bearing the burden alone, and redemption. Grace is a prima ballerina recovering from an injury and trying to figure out her future. Seth is a recovering addict trying to figure out what God wants for his life. Together they make a great team.

Sweet Reunion Romance

If you’ve read Faris’s Restoring Heritage series, then you’ll be familiar with the setting and some of the secondary characters. You don’t need to read the first series to enjoy this new story. The hero, Seth Warner, is a recovering drug addict. I liked Seth. He’d learned from his mistakes, overcome a terrible childhood, and had determination to stay clean. I thought his past drug addiction made for some great tension. Grace Howell, the heroine, had a solid growth arc. The romance between Seth and Grace was what I would classify as a reunion romance and was very sweet. If you’re like me and enjoy books that deal with grittier life situations, then this will surely be a winner for you. I hadn’t read anything by Tari Faris until this story, but I would like to read more of her books.

"Love wasn't about perfection. It was about forgiveness and choosing the other person every day." It's wonderful to be back in Heritage. I loved connecting with all the characters from the previous books and really enjoyed getting to know Seth and Grace. Seth's humble, repentant heart was so dear. Lessons on pride, reliance on God, and trusting others were profound and universal. Grace was a bit stand-offish, arrogant, and prickly at the beginning but relaxed enough to show Heritage and Seth her true self. Their heart for reaching the hurting and helping the children was admirable and endearing. Seth's struggle with substance abuse was real and raw as was Grace's struggle in the prima ballerina world. Their journey of faith, love, and discovery of purpose was precious and heart-warming. I can't wait for the next book in the series that will introduce me to more citizens of Heritage.
