Not for animal lovers

I picked this book because I’m an animal lover and it had the word “dog” in the title. After reading the first several chapters, I gave up. It may have been a cute and humorous book about the small town residents, but I refuse to read or watch tv that involves animals getting hurt or killed. The author first starts writing about the main character who doesn’t like cats (her neighbor takes care of several feral cats) and goes so far as to pepper spray them, throw things at them and other harmful actions. She also says she’s not fond of dogs, so she doesn’t want any of them around to scare off the cats. A few chapters later they are talking about the neighbors two dogs getting run over, but no one seems to care, because the dogs were always running in the street. Animals are loving and innocent creatures. It’s the humans that are careless (letting unfixed cats live outside or not properly training or restraining dogs in a fenced yard).

Your Dog Is In The Bar

This book was a fun read. Very much like the town I lived in. The personalities in the book are so very much like all small town folks and you could place them into just about any state and see a face to match her descriptions. Good reading for city folks also to give them a relaxing time away from the daily hustle.

Excellent Book!!!!!

This is an excellent book - that makes you yearn for a simpler life and time. It truely makes you want to live in a small town "where everybody knows your name" and people are still helpful and kind to their neighbors!

It was MY dog!

As one of the characters in her book, I loved reading it. She depicted us the way we are, with humor and an enjoyment for our community. So truthful, in fact, that the author had to wear a bullet proof vest the day after the book signing.

laugh out loud fun

It really pulls you into the lives of this close knit group, they have lots of fun and I was laughing out loud, small town living at it's finest!!! It has a lot of heart, soul, and caring. I would recommend this book for any one to be entertaining and a window into the lives of small town America.

Great Read for anyone growing up in a small town

Great reading for anyone growing up in a small town in America, or finding out what small town living is all about. Every town has it's own type of people that makes life easy. We all have to laugh at ourselves once in awhile. This book makes one laugh, lots. Easy Read, just a good over all book.
