Young people entering the job market

The aim of this book is to present how selection processes take place for young high school graduates to enter the job market, their perceptions of the subject and their skills and abilities, and also to investigate the conceptions of recruiters from companies that hire this public to be part of their workforce, seeking to identify what is expected of these young people in a selection process. The data was obtained through semi-structured interviews with professionals in the R&S area of companies in Vale do Para ba/SP and through questionnaires applied to young high school students from the public school system in the city of Taubat /SP. The analysis followed a qualitative methodology for the interviews and a quantitative one for the results obtained from the questionnaires. It was observed that the recruiters' expectations converge with the young people's statements and are supported by the literature. Considering their particularities, young people believe they are prepared to enter the world of work, while companies are interested in hiring them precisely because of their typical characteristics, which facilitate inclusion and integration into organizations.
