Young people as society's scapegoat

Considering that since antiquity, the older generation has complained about the younger, the current perception, portrayal, and condemnation of young people takes on grotesque forms. According to this theory, a scapegoat is created for society-a scapegoat onto which social anxieties, detraditionalization, existential fears, and concerns about the economic crisis can be attributed.When people are frustrated, unhappy, or frightened, they direct their aggression toward groups that are unpopular, easily identifiable, and powerless. Due to the resulting overwhelm, lack of recognition, and disorientation, many young people face social disintegration and the risk of unsatisfactory psychological and physical personality development.During the same period in which biophysical changes and personality formation occur, young people are also required to perform integration tasks. The density and diversity of developmental tasks within the short timeframe of this life phase can lead to stress, to which they react with juvenile delinquency, binge drinking, and risky leisure activities.
