You'll Never Kill Yourself

By Rauan Klassnik

A poetry collection by Rauan Klassnik comprised of unflinching prose poems that engage with a world whose forces feel increasingly beyond our control.

At its core, You'll Never Kill Yourself is a collection driven by two opposing forces: the pull toward annihilation in a world saturated with danger, dread, and ecstatic excess, and the counter-force--that this surrender can and will never occur.

Composed as mosaics of varying length, the book builds its world through recurrence, rhythm, rupture, and associative drift rather than narrative. Tension animates the verse through a voice pretending, persisting, and enduring, even as it strides through the fields of dissolution. What results is a work that holds the drive of death and the drive of life in the same trembling hand--offering companionship inside the fire.
