Why would I write an autobiography, a chronicle of someone who was never of worldly importance, nor worthy of public recognition? This is not intended to be a public document, as I am certainly not Ernest Hemingway. This is meant to preserve and continue the story of the Lester and Bennett families. It is hoped that future generations, my grandchildren, great grandchildren and beyond will enjoy knowing where and whom they came from, and who was their "Papa Mel"?
