Hilarious and thought provoking

I had never heard of Margaret Wente until I heard her being interviewed on the radio. I don't read the Globe and Mail but now I think I should. This collection of her more controversial columns (many of which sparked national outrage) are not just amusing, but hilarious enough to make you laugh out-loud. Some of her topics are definitely issues which are decidedly Canadian (ie: the ticked-off Newfoundlanders who are always whining about something) but others are universally relevent: the harrassment of smokers, the nanny state butting into our lives, the absurdity of the human rights advocates, growing old, adult children who exist in a state of perpetual adolescence, etc. She is candid, honest, and brave - many of her opinions are down-right sacreligious in this era of political correctness, but her observations ring true to anyone with even a modicum of common sense. I have thoroughly enjoyed this book and hope she publishes more. I'd like to read every single article she's ever written. Highly entertaining and fodder for great discussions.
