Following Karmin Walker's second published book, 'Through My Eyes' it was apparent that a book needed to follow it up - a book for children who had lived through Domestic Violence. Domestic Violence is on the rise, especially with the quarantine rates ever high, and this is not a topic that we should not be talking about. Children see everything. Children hear everything. Children understand more than adults typically give them credit for. This book may not be able to address all of a child's questions or concerns, but it will, however, tell them that they can feel however they want, and it is normal for them to do so. They can feel mad, they can feel confused, they can feel hurt, and they can even miss their old home or old life - these are all normal reactions. This book may be able to simply serve as a gentle reminder that you are there, they are safe, and when they do find the words to verbalize their questions... they know that you will be there to help answer them. That's all a child needs during this time now that they are safe.
