Fantastic.

This is a GREAT fantasy! It has everything! Puns. Sex. A WILD adventure. Wizards who are believable. Extremely well paced (If you can call a headlong run that.) A strange world with surprises everywhere. Characters that you can care about. Adventurers that are real! (Of course they're real. They're SCA.) And they're out to save their world. The magic feels real and doesn't end. I put it up with the best of Terry Pratchett. Oh, and did I mention it has romance, too.

hilarious

Loads of tasteful and not-so tasteful puns, well written with complex charactars, this book does a great job of entertaining. good plot that consistantly makes a farce of 'serious' fantasy. At least middle fantasy, if not high. As good as predecessor, 'Captains Outrageous: Or for doom the bell tolls.
